The British and Irish Lions again came good in the second half to make it two wins from two since they arrived in Australia.
Queensland Reds posed a firmer test than Western Force, and they will look back on their inability to take chances that would have meant a closer scoreline.
Tommy Freeman, twice, Andrew Porter, Duhan van der Merwe, Maro Itoje, Jac Morgan and Huw Jones scored the tries, before Garry Ringrose made it eight after the final whistle.
Itoje’s and Morgan’s scores were thoroughly deserved after impressing with powerful displays at the lineout and breakdown.
However, the Lions have more injury concerns. Hugo Keenan had to drop out pre-match due to illness, and Elliot Daly came in.
However, the Englishman went off midway through the second half, after another impressive showing. He held his arm after a heavy bang in the tackle and was seen shaking his head as he headed to the bench. Later his arm was wrapped and in a prone position.
If it is the worse it will be a harsh blow for Daly, who has hit his best form, and worrying for Farrell as he offers cover in three positions, as well as a powerful left boot.
FIRST BLOW TO THE REDS
It was a worryingly slow start from the Lions. Freeman spilled a high ball, and Hunter Paisami made a charge to show the hosts were fully up for the match.
Less than 10 minutes in the hosts opened the lead when prop Jeffrey Toomaga-Allen powered through Daly.
The Lions almost hit back immediately after winning a restart penalty, but the Reds held up the driven maul.
Daly then wasted a chance after strong work from Morgan and Freeman, and Porter was twice pinged in the scrum.
Freeman drew them level after they sent another penalty to the corner, but again the tourists were muddled with Jamison Gibson-Park and van der Merwe making heavy weather of their clearance.
TRY-FOR-TRY
It got worse when Josh Flook scored the Reds’ second from Kalani Thomas’ kick through.
Back came the Lions and after Freeman went held short, Porter drove over from close range. It was a sign of what he brings even if the basics at the scrum go awry.
Gibson-Park linked with van der Merwe to send the Scot over in the corner, but another muddled retake between Gibson-Park and Jack Conan nearly brought the hosts a third score.
Itoje stretched the Lions lead five minutes into the second half. Still the penalties came, but the Reds could not capitalise.
Morgan was rewarded for his enormous work rate with his first Lions try, and Freeman looped off his wing to score his second.
Jones then showed no ill effects of his Achilles injury with an intercept before racing away from Reds winger Lachie Anderson.
The Scot was then joined in the centre by Ben Earl, while Ringrose was pressed into action at fullback. While the Irishman’s deployment was needed, Earl’s came with the type of scoreline that allows experimentation.
One last chance came from a penalty. They won the scrum and out it went where Ringrose dotted down in the corner to again bring up the half-century.
